How to Connect AirPods to Your Laptop or PC

I'm an iPhone user but I'm using a PC with a Windows operating system, are AirPods still for me? Many believe that AirPods are only for Apple users. While more convenient for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users, AirPods are also easy to pair with your laptop or PC. They are also easy to connect to any wireless device.

How to Connect AirPods to a Windows Laptop

This tells you how to connect your AirPods to a laptop with a Windows operating system which is quite similar to all Windows OS laptops or desktops. Here's how:

Start by placing your

AirPods in their charging case

(and make sure there are enough batteries for them to work).

On your laptop, look for the gear icon (this takes you to your Settings menu). You can also enter

Settings

in the search bar.

Select

Peripheral devices

then go to< /p>

Bluetooth & other devices

Click on

Add Bluetooth or other device

.

Select

Bluetooth

.

Now just

open your charging case

(and not to turn off your AirPods) ).

Press the round button

on the back of the case and hold it down for several seconds, until the status light on the front of the case begins to flash white.

Find

Your name

AirPods

on your laptop and click on it.

Once logged in, click

Finished

on your laptop's Devices window.

How to Connect AirPods to an HP Laptop

Connecting your AirPods to an HP laptop is quite similar to laptops with Windows operating system. However, some terms may confuse you because you cannot recognize them. Let us walk you through how to connect AirPods to HP laptop:

On your HP laptop, find and click the icon

in the lower right corner of the Windows taskbar. This will prompt you to open Windows Action Center.

In some cases, this may not work because your AirPods cannot provide the

sound playback function

. In this case, you may need to install individual Bluetooth drivers. After installation, repeat and try to connect your AirPods again.

How to Connect to AirPods Once Already Paired

Like any Bluetooth-powered wireless device. Your laptop and AirPods already remember their previous connectivity. So, if you want to use your AirPods for your laptop again, you just need to make sure that your laptop's Bluetooth feature is turned on. After that, open the cover of your charging case and it will automatically connect to your laptop.

How to Connect AirPods to PC

You can also use your AirPods with your PC. It connects the same way you connect your AirPods to your laptop. Another wireless Bluetooth device is your PC's treatment of AirPods. Likewise, you must:

Disadvantages of Connecting AirPods to Non-Apple Devices

The only downsides we see about needing to connect to a laptop or PC are (1) the

touchpad functionality

does not work and (2) the charging status of your AirPods will not be displayed.

We can probably forget not to see the charging status, but the loss of the touchpad function just gives us normal headphones. Nevertheless, the connectivity would be seamless and its sound quality is always there!
