First of all,

Now turn it on and as computer turns on immediately press F8 key continuously until Advanced menu appears. If the Advanced menu does not appear, continue to interrupt the startup process by turning off the computer and turning it back on before it fully boots. If you do this, the third time it will say PC diagnostics, then enter the Advanced menu.

Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select Repair Computer, then press Enter. Select English or your preferred language.

Next, enter your password if asked, then select the Dell Factory Image Restore option.

Now check the boss that asks you to format hard drive and restore to factory condition.

If you have a DVD disc with a Windows installation

First you need to create a bootable flash drive. You can use the

. Personally, I usually use a third-party tool called

Rufus as described in this article

they perform the same functions.

You will need an ISO image of your Windows operating system.

Now install the media creation tool and then run it. Browse to the location of the ISO image and click Open to select. Now create the installation media.

With the USB stick plugged in, follow the same instructions as above for the DVD. That is, turn off the computer, turn it on, press F12 to enter the boot menu, select the USB drive and press any key to boot from the flash drive.

NB: with the Windows Media Creation Tool you can download the latest version of Windows and use it to create the bootable flash drive
